Srinagar: Ajaz Khan, a successful entrepreneur who is the Only Kashmiri running group of colleges in Bangalore for 35 years, has now shifted his focus to Berwah, area of Budgam.
Known for his association with the Er Rahsid’s Awami Ittehad Party from last 8 and half years, Khan returned to his roots with the initiation of a new campaign targeted at changing the lot of locals.
Khan’s sacrifice of a well-established college in Bangalore makes the candidature from Kashmir solemnly an act to ensure change. He has laid emphasis on facilitating better educational and health infrastructure and wants to improve the economic condition of Berwah.
“The experience which I gathered from Bangalore has taught me that quality education and accessible health are the two things which, if worked upon, shall bring a lot of positive change in Berwah and its surrounding areas,” Khan said while speaking about his new initiative.
Khan’s campaign has already received great attention from last one and half months and words of encouragement from the heart of locals. His return to Kashmir, with the success record at his back, has further brightened hopes of an overwhelming improvement in the region.
As Khan carries on with the work, his campaign is likely to shed much-needed light on the problems of the people of Berwah. It is reflective of an emerging trend of successful Kashmiris returning home to help develop their communities.
