Clashes at Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi left three people injured

At least three people, including two students of the Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi, were injured after clashes erupted at the varsity gate on Friday.

The incident was reported at nearly 8.25 pm when the police were informed of clashes near gate number 3 of the university.

According to the details, clashes had erupted between some students, former students, and others.

Upon reaching the spot, the Delhi Police said they only found bystanders. Later, they received information that three people who had sustained injuries in the clashes were receiving treatment at AIIMS Trauma Centre and Holy Family Hospital.

Investigations into the incident revealed that clashes between students broke out over some petty issue, which turned violent following the intervention of some others, who were not enrolled at the university.

Meanwhile, the administration of the university was directed to seal the entry of outsiders on campus.

Several teams were formed to arrest the accused.
