DGP, IGP visit Pulwama’s Hariparigam to condole death of Crime Branch photographer

Pulwama, Nov 17: Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and IGP Kashmir V K Birdi on Monday visited Hariparigam village in Tral to offer condolences to the family of Crime Branch photographer Javid Mansoor Rather, who died in the accidental explosion inside Nowgam Police Station.

Officials said the senior officers met the grieving family members and expressed solidarity with them. They assured that the police department would extend all possible support during the difficult period.

While talking to reporters, IGP V K Birdi described the deceased photographer as a valued member of the force. He said the department had lost a jewel in the tragic explosion and reiterated that the police leadership stands firmly with the bereaved family.

Hariparigam village continued to witness a steady flow of mourners through the day. Locals recalled Javid Mansoor Rather as a dedicated professional whose death has left a deep void in the community.

The Nowgam blast, which claimed several lives including that of Rather, remains under investigation. [KNT]
