Presentation Convent Principal Refutes Allegations, Says it is “Not True“
Srinagar, June 10: A third-grade student at Presentation Convent School in Srinagar was allegedly subjected to physical assault by teachers.
According to the family of the student, identified as Ayaat Altaf, the incident occurred after she failed to bring a notebook to class. Her father Altaf Ahmad Dar told news agency KNB that teachers allegedly beat the child within the school premises.
Disturbingly, he says no immediate medical assistance was provided, and parents were informed of the incident only after a significant delay.
Following the incident, Ayaat was rushed to SMHS Hospital Srinagar, where she is reportedly experiencing symptoms including vomiting, loss of consciousness, and difficulty opening her eyes, he said.
The child’s father has demanded swift action from authorities and accountability from the teachers involved. He also criticized the school administration for failing to visit the hospital or make any direct contact with the family in the aftermath of the incident.
When KNB contacted the Principal of Presentation Convent, she denied the allegations, stating that they were “not true.” When the reporter informed her that the family claiming the student is in the hospital, the Principal responded, “I’m not sure if the kid is in the hospital. We tried to follow up, but they didn’t allow us.(KNB)
