Social Workers Distribute Free Food Kits for Eid to Needy Families in Srinagar

Srinagar 26 March– In a heartfelt initiative to spread joy and support the underprivileged, a group of dedicated social workers and well-wishers prepared and distributed free food kits for Eid in Srinagar. Renowned sportsperson and social worker Peer Mehak, prominent social worker Syed Aijaz Kashani, well-known social worker Irfana Zargar, and renowned educationist Salim Mir took the lead in organizing this noble cause.

The initiative was entirely funded by the social workers themselves, along with contributions from well-wishers who wanted to ensure that no family goes hungry during the festive occasion of Eid. The food kits contained essential items, including rice, flour, oil, sugar, pulses, and other necessary groceries, allowing families to prepare traditional Eid meals with dignity and joy.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Aijaz Kashani emphasized the importance of community support and kindness. “Eid is a time of celebration and togetherness, and we wanted to make sure that those struggling financially also experience the joy of this festival. Helping others is our moral and social duty,” he said.
Peer Mehak, known for her contributions both in sports and social work, highlighted the need for continued support for underprivileged families. “This is just a small effort to bring smiles to those in need. We hope to inspire more people to come forward and contribute to such humanitarian causes,” she added. Renowned educationist Salim Mir echoed similar sentiments, urging the community to step up and assist those facing hardships. He stressed that Eid is a festival of giving and compassion, and small acts of kindness can make a significant impact on people’s lives.
Renowned Social worker Irfana Zargar said the distribution drive was conducted smoothly, ensuring that the aid reached those who needed it the most. The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude, with many stating that such initiatives restore faith in humanity and bring hope to struggling families.
