SRINAGAR, July 26: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V.K. Bidhuri, stated that implementing a summer vacation in schools is currently not feasible. Decisions will be made based on prevailing weather conditions.
Bidhuri assured that students unable to attend school due to current conditions will not face attendance penalties.
Parents in the Kashmir Valley had earlier urged the administration to declare a short-term summer vacation for schools.
Meanwhile, no major heatwave is expected from July 29 to August 5, with Jammu and Kashmir anticipating intermittent rain. Independent weather forecasts predict significant rain from July 30 to August 4, with updates to follow.
Meanwhile, hot and mostly dry weather is expected to continue in the Kashmir division for the next 36-48 hours.
