Srinagar : MMU Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama Jammu and Kashmir, a conglomerate of religious bodies led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq , took serious note of the news item in media that a non-local medical student at the Government Medical College Srinagar has put up a blasphemous post on a caller app, against the holy prophet pbuh and strongly condemned it . MMU said such incident is unacceptable to the Muslims of jammu Kashmir, for whom the reverence and honour of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is dearer than his or her life, and such blasphemous remarks will not be tolerated . It asked the management of the college and authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly to find out if it is a deliberate attempt to instigate and hurt the religious feelings of the Muslims , and take stern action accordingly. This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred . Even last year at NIT a similar incident occurred. There seems to be a pattern to it .

MMU said that insulting a particular religious community and its revered figures -the hallmark of a certain hate based ideological movement in India , is spreading its tentacles in jammu and Kashmir that has always upheld religious coexistence and respect for all faiths . This ploy will not be allowed to succeed here .
