Srinagar: The recently declared academic results from Jammu and Kashmir Waqf-run schools have showcased a remarkable improvement, reflecting the impact of sustained educational reforms under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi.
Across the Union Territory, several institutions under the Waqf framework reported outstanding student performance. Sultan-ul-Arifeen Aqf Higher Secondary School, Kathidarwaza, Srinagar, achieved a 100% pass rate with 47 students earning distinctions, while I. Saima Nisar topped with 498 marks. Similarly, Mantaqui Memorial Waqf Higher Secondary School, Awantipora, recorded a 97.47% pass rate, led by I. Mudasir with 494 marks, and multiple students scoring above 490. At Islamia Hanfia Waqf Higher Secondary School, Anantnag, 95.89% of students cleared their exams, with Syed Anasha Ruqie securing the highest marks of 499. Muslim Gousia Waqf High School, Kakapora, Pulwama, reported a perfect 100% pass rate, and Alamdar Waqf Secondary School, Chrar-i-Sharief, achieved 96.15%, reflecting steady progress across the region.
Education officials attributed these achievements to the comprehensive reforms initiated under Dr. Andrabi’s stewardship. “The improved results are a direct outcome of systematic planning, rigorous academic monitoring, and enhanced student support systems,” said a senior Waqf official. Initiatives such as regularising academic schedules, improving teacher accountability, and strengthening infrastructure have created an environment conducive to learning.
Parents and educationists have also noted tangible improvements in discipline, syllabus completion, and exam preparedness. Special attention has been paid to integrating modern education with values-based learning, ensuring students not only excel academically but also develop socially and morally.
Under Dr. Andrabi’s guidance, initiatives focused on increasing enrolment, reducing dropout rates, and supporting meritorious students have played a key role in these outcomes. The results underline the importance of policy-driven reforms, consistent monitoring, and dedicated leadership in raising educational standards.
Officials confirmed that with these positive developments, efforts to strengthen Waqf-run schools will continue, aiming to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for future academic and professional challenges.
