Srinagar, Sep 26: Senior social activist and writer Farooq Renzu Shah on Friday issued a public apology following his social media write-up that was perceived as critical of Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi.
In a statement to the media, Shah clarified that any adverse comment attributed to him against Dr. Andrabi was “totally fake” and stressed that he has always praised her for her contributions.
“My Facebook posts have consistently highlighted the high contribution of Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi. Whatever is done by the Auqaf is separate, and she has nothing to do with it,” Shah said, while expressing regret over the misunderstanding.
He reiterated that Dr. Andrabi is doing commendable work as Waqf Chairperson and urged people not to be misled by misinformation circulating on social media.
