Kulgam, Sept 14: On the directions of SSP Kulgam, Shri Sahil Sarangal (IPS), Kulgam Police in coordination with the Civil Administration launched a joint operation in Subdivision D.H. Pora to check the quality of meat and other food items being sold in the market.
During the inspection, officials found instances of rotten meat being sold to unsuspecting customers.
The unfit meat was immediately seized and destroyed on the spot to avert any potential health risks.
Police said that two FIRs have been registered — one at Police Station D.H. Pora and another at Police Station Manzgam. Meanwhile, samples of the suspected meat have been collected for further examination.
Legal proceedings against the violators are already underway.
Authorities reiterated that such drives will continue and strict action will be taken against anyone found endangering public health and safety.
