Attendant Alleges Misbehavior by Staff Member at Shireen Bagh Hospital Srinagar Dialysis Centre, Complaint Filed

Srinagar: A complaint has been lodged against a staff member at the Dialysis Centre of Shireen Bagh Hospital, Srinagar, after an attendant alleged that she was misbehaved with and shouted at while accompanying her critically ill mother for treatment.

According to the complainant, Shaheena of Srinagar, her mother was suffering from brain clots and had been advised emergency surgery by doctors. Prior to the procedure, doctors recommended dialysis. However, due to reported complications, the dialysis process allegedly took nearly two hours to commence while the patient remained in a critical condition.

The attendant stated that during the delay, she politely suggested to a staff member, identified as Mr. Tariq, that if there was any difficulty, the technician who had been performing her mother’s dialysis for the past four years could be contacted for assistance.

She alleged that following this request, the staff member misbehaved with her and raised his voice, causing additional distress during an already difficult situation.

The incident has raised concerns regarding the treatment of patients and attendants in healthcare facilities. Attendants accompanying critically ill patients deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and professionalism, particularly during medical emergencies.

A formal complaint has been submitted to the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, seeking an inquiry into the matter.

Hospital authorities are yet to issue an official statement. The outcome of the inquiry is now awaited, and appropriate action is expected if the allegations are found to be substantiated.
