A spokesperson for Iran’s joint military command, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, said on Sunday that homes of US and Israeli military and political officials could now be considered “legitimate targets.” The warning comes amid rising tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel, as the war enters its first month and expands across the region.
Zolfaghari said the decision was taken in response to what Iran claims are attacks by US and Israeli forces on residential areas in multiple Iranian cities. The statement marks a sharp escalation in rhetoric, raising fears of further widening of the conflict and increased risks to civilians and officials in the region.
