• Due to the ongoing Iran–Israel war, there is a slight possibility of acidic rain or dark-colored (“black”) snow occurring for a short time in parts of the Himalayan region.
• Large-scale fires, such as burning oil refineries, fuel depots, or chemical plants, can release huge amounts of soot, smoke, and sulfur particles into the atmosphere.
• If these pollutants rise high enough and the Jet Stream carries them eastward, they could travel long distances toward the Himalayas.
• When these particles mix with clouds and precipitation systems, they may lead to polluted rainfall or dark-tinted snowfall in some high-altitude areas.
• The chances depend mainly on the intensity of fires, amount of pollution released, and the exact path of the Jet Stream over the coming days.
