Srinagar, Nov 17: Police on Monday said that a has been arrested, who has been wanted in several criminal cases registered not only in Srinagar but in multiple police stations across the Kashmir Valley.
Officials told that Police station Lal Bazar, arrested a woman accused in various cases namely, woman identified as Asmat Jan alias Taboo.
The accused has been named in FIRs lodged in Khrew Awantipora, Pulwama, Sopore, Chadoora and Budgam. A fresh case, FIR No. 42/2025 under relevant sections of BNS, is already registered against her at Police Station Lal Bazar. Police said she had been absconding for an extended period.
As per police sources, credible inputs were received on Friday suggesting that the woman was hiding at Hotel White House in Jalandhar, Punjab. Acting on the information, a team from Lal Bazar Police Station immediately rushed to the spot and apprehended her.
The accused has been brought back to Srinagar on a two-day transit remand, officials added. (KNC)
