Srinagar, Nov 29: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Political Affairs Committee on Saturday strongly condemned the ongoing demolition drive in Jammu & Kashmir, stating that the action has left several families homeless at a time when temperatures have dropped drastically across the region.
PDP Chief Spokesperson Mehboob Beg, said that evicting people in severe winter conditions is not merely a policy concern but a “crisis of humanity.”
He said families forced out of their homes amid freezing temperatures are facing unimaginable hardships, and such actions cannot be justified under any administrative measure.
Beg urged the authorities to immediately halt the demolition drive and adopt a compassionate approach, especially during harsh weather conditions.
He added that the government must ensure that no individual or family is deprived of shelter during winter.
