Srinagar, May 26: The body of a 12-year-old boy, who had gone missing three days ago, was recovered from the River Jhelum in the Maloora area of Srinagar this morning.
The boy, identified as Aenayat Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie, was a resident of Goripora, Palpora. He was feared to have drowned in the river near his locality on May 22.
After which, a rescue operation was launched by a team of River Police Srinagar and the SDRF.
According to reports, the body was found by sand diggers in Maloora this morning and handed over to the concerned police. It was later shifted to SMHS Hospital for legal formalities.
Police have taken up the matter for further investigation.
