Srinagar, Mar 21: Despite repeated requests from devotees in past years, the Waqf Board has failed to initiate Tahajud and Qayam-ul-Lail prayers in Waqf-managed mosques and shrines across the Kashmir Valley.
A group of worshippers said that we had appealed to the Waqf authorities multiple times to facilitate these special night prayers during the holy month, especially in prominent shrines and mosques under Waqf management.
However, despite assurances, no arrangements were made for these prayers this year as well, leaving devotees disappointed. Many expressed dismay over the board’s inaction in fulfilling this long-standing demand for spiritual gatherings.
Several devotees said that mosques and shrines dominated by the Waqf Board could have hosted these prayers to encourage greater participation and spirituality during the blessed nights.
The devotees have once again urged the Waqf authorities to consider starting Tahajud and Qayam-ul-Lail prayers and ensure they are organized in future Ramadan seasons.
