Srinagar: Acting swiftly on complaints from locals, SHO Police Station Shaheed Gunj and team has cracked down on the reckless burning of firecrackers at Kani Kadal bridge, setting a firm deadline for vendors to restrict their sale and purchase in the area. Additionally, miscreants have been summoned involved in the nuisance and warned of strict action against any further violations.
“No such activity violating public order will be tolerated. We have set a deadline till dusk (7pm) for vendors to regulate their sales in the area, and anyone found violating the order or creating any kind of nuisance will face strict action.
The move has been met with widespread appreciation from locals who had been facing immense inconvenience due to the unregulated firecracker bursts.
“Now one can walk and prayers can be held peacefully in the masjid” said a local. “The police’s swift response has brought much-needed peace, and we thank them for their timely intervention. We also request them to remain vigilant over the next three days of the festival to prevent any recurrence of such disturbances.”
With the crackdown in place, residents are hopeful for a peaceful and orderly celebration, free from chaos and disruptions.
