Mostly dry and cloudy weather is expected across Jammu & Kashmir today, except for the plains of Jammu, where conditions may be partly sunny during the day before turning cloudy later.
A fresh and active Western Disturbance is set to impact the Union Territory starting this evening or late tonight, initially affecting the higher reaches of Kashmir.
This Western Disturbance is likely to bring moderate to heavy rain and snowfall tomorrow. Rain is expected in the plains of Jammu, while the plains of Kashmir are likely to experience snowfall. The higher reaches of Kashmir may witness heavy to very heavy snowfall.
The weather system is expected to remain active until the morning of 6th January, after which a brief pause in activities is anticipated. Another spell of rain or snowfall could occur in some parts of J&K between the late afternoon or evening of 6th January, continuing until the morning of 7th January.
From 7th January afternoon onwards, dry weather is expected to prevail across the region until 10th January.

• There is a possibility of shooting stones and landslides along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Travelers are advised to exercise caution.
