SRINAGAR, Mar 7: Former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Baig and his wife, a District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Safeena Baig left Bakshi Stadium fuming even before the arrival of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

They alleged that there was no adequate seating arrangement for the senior leader.
“It is very unfortunate that Baig sahib, a Padma Shri awardee was not provided a special seat during the Prime Minister’s public rally”, the DDC Chairperson Safeena told media persons in Srinagar before leaving the venue. They left the venue before the PM arrived at Bakshi stadium.
She said Baig had come here to attend the Prime Minister’s public rally in the capacity of a Padma Shri awardee.
“It is not a BJP function and we had come here to welcome the Prime Minister which was an official function, ” Safeena said.
As the duos were leaving the venue, some officials were seen persuading them to stay which they didn’t.
Baig, a former PDP leader, had attended the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Jammu on February 20.
Safeena said that she had come here with the hope that since the situation has improved in Jammu and Kashmir, the people should be provided with the popular government and for that Assembly election should be conducted and statehood be restored. (UNI)
