MeT Forecasts Two-Day Wet Spell From Tomorrow Onwards in J&K

Srinagar, Feb 02: The Meteorological Department on Friday forecasted two-day wet spell from tomorrow onwards in Jammu and Kashmir.

An official from MeT told news agency Kashmir Scroll that today, weather will remain generally dry with possibility of very light snow at isolated extreme higher reaches.

The official said that from 3rd-4th February, weather will remain generally cloudy towards afternoon with possibility of light to moderate snow/rain at many places towards evening till 4th feb evening with chances of heavy snowfall over isolated higher reaches.

He said middle and higher reaches of north, northwestern and south Kashmir may receive 8-12 inches of snow, lower reaches & plains may receive 3-6 inches, while plains of central Kashmir may recieve rain with 1-2 inches of snow.

Jammu division may receive light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning with light to moderate snow over higher reaches of Pirpanjal Range and Chenab Valley during the above period, he said.

On 5th February, he said weather will remain partly to generally cloudy with possibility of light snow over isolated higher reaches, adding that from 6th-13th February, weather will remain generally dry.

In view of inclement weather during 3rd evening to 4th evening, he advised travellers to plan accordingly & follow administration/traffic police advisory—(KS)
